« Ledger is killing it right now! One week after announcing they sold more than 1 million cryptocurrency hardware wallets in 165 countries, they just announced this week a new fundraising of $75M from top VC funds like Draper Esprit, FirstMark Capital, and others. The company develops security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies, as well as blockchain applications, through their proprietary technology. Their latest product, the Ledger Nano S is the de-facto solution for crypto investors wanting to securely store they cryptocurrencies.
Ledger was founded in 2014 by an ambitious team of 8 entrepreneurs who saw the potential of blockchain technology to advance the way we live. The team realized very early on that security would be the cornerstone of the long term success for blockchain. Ledger has been growing at a fast pace since then and now employs 82 people in San Francisco, Paris and Vierzon. Eric is the CEO and cofounder of Ledger. Before that, Eric was behind several French and European projects, including the Montorgueil Group, sold to Rentabiliweb in 2007, and Prixing, a mobile price comparator bought by HighCo in 2013. Passionate about Bitcoin and the high potential of distributed consensus technologies, he founded la Maison du Bitcoin in 2014. This was a Parisian place for for startups working on implementation of Bitcoin technology and the first physical purchase counter of bitcoins in Europe.
