PayPal n’a actuellement aucune relation avec Bitcoin mais cela pourrait bientôt changer. Dans une interview diffusée mercredi sur Bloomberg TV, David Marcus, président de la société, déclare être très intéressé par la monnaie virtuelle, et affirme que son entreprise est en train de réfléchir à une éventuelle adoption.
Voilà une traduction de sa déclaration : « J’ai beaucoup observé [l’évolution de bitcoin], et je trouve la façon dont fonctionne de cette monnaie fascinante […] Je pense que pour nous à PayPal, la seule question est de savoir si Bitcoin doit devenir ou non un outil de financement pour PayPal. Nous y réfléchissons. »
Texte original : « So I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at it, and it’s truly fascinating actually: the way that the currency’s been designed, and the way that inflation is built in to pay for miners, and all that is truly fascinating. I think that for us at PayPal, it’s just a question whether Bitcoin will make its way to PayPal’s funding instrument or not. We’re kinda thinking about it. »
